In Memory Of

For those who fought for our country so that we may say we are the land of the free and home of the brave, we sincerely thank you. One day you will know just how much we Americans appreciate all that you have sacrificed.

A picture of Arlington National Cemetary
TAPS

Day is done,
gone the sun,
from the lakes
from the hills
from the sky,
all is well,
safely, rest,
God is nigh.

Fading light,
Dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky
Gleaming bright,
From afar,
Drawing, near,
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise,
For our days,
Neath the sun
Neath the stars
Neath the sky,
As we go,
This, we, know,
God is nigh.

A Prayer©
by Kenneth Durnil
God grant in this our country's hour of need
We shall not shirk but do thy work.
Strengthen our hearts, plant wisdom in our minds;
Help us to help ourselves and all mankind.

Should we despair when things go wrong,
Comfort us 'though the night be long, and stay,
That out of darkness we might bring the light of day.

Then at life's close we lie content
Knowing upon our stone these words they'll brand,
“Here lies one who loved his God above,
Here lies one who loved his native land.”
