WHAT PATRIOTISM MEANS TO ME
When I think of patriotism some of the words that pop into my head are honor, bravery, freedom, and fighting. You may be wondering why fighting pops into my mind; it's because of all the brave and honorable soldiers fighting for our freedom, rights, and our country! The sad thing is most of the soldiers that are fighting for our country have a wife and kids. That makes me sad because if they die in war, what about their families, their friends, and all their loved one[s]? So, everyone should stop and think that it's because of the brave soldiers that we have our freedom and rights.
You may be asking yourself how can I show that I love my country, how can I show respect to all thos brave mewn and women fighting fore us, well, you can do those things by saying the Pledge respectfully, by standing with both feet on the ground, and by standing up straight with your hand on your heart, you should not be playing arounbd during the Pledge, that is disrespecting the flag and the soldiers. Another way to show patriotism is during the moment of silence after the Pledge, because you can be thinking about or praying for all those soldiers in war to come home safe. That stuff you can do mostly in school.
For things outside of school, you can recycle to protect the country [which]which is what the soldiers are fighting for. You can also hang a flag outside your homeand make sure it never touches the ground. Here are some simpler things you can do like holding the dsoor open for people, babysitting for someone and even just turning the lights off to save enwergy. You will see how easy it can be to show patriotism.
This is what patriotism means to me, but it can mean a lot of different things to you, no matter if you agree or disagree with what I am saying, I just hope you show patriotism in your own way and be proud of it. If you already show your patriotism and do these things I wrote about, I encourage you to get your firends to do the same. Think about it don't all those brave men and women serving in the forces deserve to be honored? So my point is.......SHOW PATRIOTISM.
