Lemmie Bynum Jr.

Lemmie Bynum, Jr. was born in Opelika, Alabama on November 2, 1934.

Later, his family moved to Kingsford Heights where he played basketball and graduated from Union Twp. High School as class President in 1954.

He enlisted in the Air Force and achieved the positions of Flight Engineer Technician, Flight Engineer Technician Examiner, Wing Flight Simulator, Flight Examiner Engineer, and Squadron Flight Examiner for both the C-141 and the C-5 Cargo aircraft. Lemmie accrued more than one thousand hours flying time and over one million miles in the USAF C-5, one of the world's largest aircrafts.

During Lemmie's career in the USAF, he served at the following bases:

Lemmie met and married the love of his life, Juanita Wilson. They took their vows on February 14, 1959 in Boston, Massachusetts. Lemmie and Juanita had four wonderful children: Lisa, Alice, Patricia, and Bruce.

After Lemmie retired from the USAF, he attended Delaware University and graduated with honors on May 12, 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He then went on to teach Distributive Education at the Sussex Vocational High School in Georgetown, Delaware.

Lemmie was always active in his church, in his community, and with his family.
