John and Dorothy Buck
John and Dorothy Buck met in 1936 when Dorothy started going to Union Township School. They started dating in 1937, her a freshman, and him a senior.
John and Dorthy Buck Married May 12, 1943 Fort Benning, Georgia.
Both served in the United States Army during WWII. John served in the U.S. Army and Dorthy served in the WAC.

John and Dorothy have been members of the Zook-Farrington American Legion Post 434 in Kingsford Heights for 49 years.
Both have served in many officer positions and both are Past Commanders.
Together they have hosted the National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Counts for 30 years and have attended an additional 20 years of the counts hosted by the La Porte County Audubon Society. Their count area covered Union Township.
Dorothy was awarded a trophy by the La Porte County Audubon Society for her work. She is the past editor of the Indiana Audubon Society newsletter, Audubon Leaves.
The Bucks moved into their house that John built in Union Township in December, 1946 and have lived there ever since.
